Bukit tabur....yeah

WEll, i came across a picture of my friend in her frenster. It was a picture potraying a high view of the dense forest and a river or a lake, and mountain range faraway...a thought came into my mind, i also wanted to go this beautiful place. SO i left a comment in that photo, asking 'this is a vy beautiful place, where is it??' Most of her pictures she uploaded were pics of a bunch of frens climbing and hiking....i was so envy , haha coz i like hiking and nature vy much.

Oneday, my friend finally replied me and asked me whether i would like to join her to climb d bukit again!! I was so happy and agreed to it.

The day finally came that we met at wangsa maju 7-eleven 6.45AM, but i was late..haha, coz the feeder bus was late, n i have to grab a cab to send me to the asia jaya lrt station, it took another 45mins to reach wangsa maju. Had my breakfast then bought water...then off we went for the climb.

Bukit Tabur (also known as Taman Melawati Hill) is located in Taman Melawati, Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur. The hill, which is less than 1000 meters, is a quartz/limestone combination formation. Climbers enter the hiking trail via Kampung Klang Gates, 50 meters from the gates of the Klang Gates Valley Dam, at the back of Taman Melawati. The Gombak Forest Reserve and Klang Gates Valley Dam are beside the hill. The peak offers spectacular view of the dam.

I was told tat tis time they were gona climb the bukit that was less climb by ppl which is on the right side....n heard it was a much more difficult climb........

we have to drive near the dam, then walk a distance to the entrance of the forest, the starting point of the climb, beside that place, there is also a small stream der where locals owez play water der. The climb was quite steep, though there is a track, but it is not easy to climb, u need ur hands to climb as well and easy to get dirty.

The climb can be quite slippery especially for those shoes that are not so fit for climbing. We climbed early in the morning to avoid the hot sun, the whole climb up and down actually need 3-4hours depending how fast and how many stop u make to rest or take pics. The bukit has quite alot of rocks too. There are quite a number of peaks and viewpoints along the climb. Towards the end of the climb, one have to climb with d aid of rope, tat track was almost 70degree steep.

On the toppest viewpoint, ppl owez tot that, that place was the end of the climb and start to descend down later, however there was still a small trail that was even less ppl trek through which lead to a real end of the climb, a 90degree cliff.

The difference of this bukit and d other 1 which is more popular and easier to climb(claim by fren) is tat, u have to turn back n descend using the same route compared to the other one where u can go down through another trail.

The scenery view on tis bukit was said to be more beautiful than the other 1, which i thinked is true, coz i screened through the pics that was took on the next bukit and found tat the view was not tat nice. BOth bukit overlook the dam in different side, but this bukit that we climbed overlook the dam n a bigger scope which makes it more beautiful :)

The climb was superb for me, and i longed to climb again

SO, i climbed again with the same frens and frens of frens, and a fren of mine a week ago. Hope to bring more frens to climb....hehe

Auroras, magic fireworks of nature...

Ever heard of auroras?? do you know what is it?? any idea??

how about nothern lights?? ring any bell??

haha, guessed most people don't know what is it. THough i cant really remembered when was the 1st time i heard of auroras, but i'm sure that i fell in love with it when i knew what was auroras.

SO WHAT ACTUALLY IS THIS AURORAs??? There are known as the brilliant curtains of light seen in the night sky. THis was a saying from a website:

"Of all naturally occuring heavenly phenomena, few come close to a night
with a magnificent northern lights display. Flickering curtains of dancing
light against the dark skies, northern lights is certainly one of the most
spectacular of nature's phenomena."

A well-known author after watching a beautiful aurora in its fullest splendour, concluded, "No pencil can draw it, no colours can paint it and no words can describe it in all its magnificence."


Auroras are natural colored light displays, which are usually observed in the night sky, particularly in the polar zone. Some scientists therefore call them "polar auroras" (or "aurorae polaris").

In northern latitudes, it is known as the aurora borealis named after the Roman goddess of the dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for north wind, Boreas. Especially in Europe, it often appears as a reddish glow on the northern horizon, as if the sun were rising from an unusual direction. The aurora borealis is also called the northern lights, as it is only visible in the North sky from the northern hemisphere. The aurora borealis most often occurs from September to October and from March to April.

Its southern counterpart, aurora australis, has similar properties. Australis is the Latin word for "of the South".

Auroras are now known to be caused by the collision of charged particles (ions (+) (-) ) found in the magnetosphere, with atoms in the Earth's upper atmosphere (at altitudes above 80 km). These particles travel into space with speeds of 300 to 1200 kilometers per second. A cloud of these particles is called plasma, and a stream of plasma coming from the sun is called solar wind. They collide with atoms of gases in the atmosphere, and the atoms become excited. Shortly afterwards, the atoms emit their gained energy as light. Light emitted by the Aurora tends to be dominated by emissions from atomic oxygen, resulting in a greenish glow (at a wavelength of 557.7 nm) and at higher altitudes - the dark-red glow (at 630.0 nm of wavelength). Many other colors - especially those emitted by atomic and molecular nitrogen (blue and purple, respectively).

I thinked anyone who know what is it will certainly like it or hope to actually see one in their lifetime with their own eyes, which is what i dream and hope of. I really really hope to see and capture this magnificient view at least once in my lifetime, and hopefully with my love one, haha. Dream too much?? I doubt, now there are tours operate to bring you to see one, however, it depends on your luck alot to see one. Who knows i might have the chance in the future when i got the money.

TRIPS to watch these spectacular view are available in those countries as i mentioned on top where these auroras are common e.g. ireland, alaska, etc. However, the package is not cheap, and normally the package is for a few days at least to 1 week. The chase for the auroras depend solely on guide's experiences, luck as well as weather forecast. Cloudy weathers will jeopardised the lookout for auroras. Auroras phenomenas are more common when there are solar storms. Well, i wondered will i ever have the chance to see one !!!???

Day 2 with the korean kids...

The day started off as usual, gathered in the hotel lobby, then took bus then off we go.

The 1st destination was the craft centre located somewhere in ampang. It was quite a nice place, with the wooden house, tropical plants. We went through the outer compound, where the artist made their paintings and sketching.

Next, we went into the craft centre, visiting around. We stopped by to watch a musical performance for a short while.


We also stopped by to make ourself some craft, a very simple craft, it's just a bamboo case and you paint it. Some student made simple wau. The students could bring back the craft as souvenirs.:)





After lunch with kimchi and rice, we went petrosains in KLCC. Haha, even the big boss who followed was worried and concern of the kids getting lost. We have to followed them and be alert all the time.

At petrosains , we were briefed on the safety rules that we have to abide with. THis was my 1st time to enter petrosains, haha. We have to sit in shuttle cum car sort of thing to get into petrosains. We were showed somepictures on the way in. Petrosains was really a place for one to learn alot, but mostly on geology, physics and engineering. There were alot to see, read and try on. this plage was really huge too..... there was even a session to learn about liquid nitrogen, where a 'teacher' will demonstrate on the use and function of liquid nitrogen, really interesting. Guess what will happen when a balloon was put into the liquid nitrogen?? what will happen when the balloon was heated?? what will happened to biological things then??

there was alos a helicopter simulation where it will take u for a ride across the oil platform in the sea. IT was quite nice, giving u the experince of siting in a helicopter, going the stormy weather.

It was already almost 4pm when we came out of petrosains, we have to rush around KLCC to do shopping which the kids longed. I could tell ya that the kids are damn rich..., converse, nike, adidas...all branded they wan to go....haha. I learned that those branded was sold more expensive in korea, which really surprised me. It was really a big rush, for we need to gather by 5.30pm. Gosh, my head was so 'big' to bring them around, he wan goggles, she wan swimsuit, he wan converse, they wan golf gloves......they wan to do some supermarket shopping.........not enuf time.........arggggggggggh...., headache.

Finally dinner....then local time (we guardians have to help them in studies or play games with them), luckily it was an hour local time instead of normal 2 hour local time. WE had a little snack party, ate what they bought, they chat and laugh alot, i can only smile though i have not a single idea what they were talking about.

Gosh, thank god, 2 days were finally over, it was really a tiring job....haha, though it's great too that i got to visit places i have never been to, and learned more on how to approach kids, made frens with them.............NOT bad lah.haha :)
