To NSW(10): Wollongong + Kiama, yeah!!!!
Visiting one of the biggest buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere in Wollongong before Wei Yan goes back to M’sia has been on his wanted to do list, lucky I that I was there and able to join when he decided to do it finally by borrowing the car from Anson.
The 3 of us set on the journey of 100km to Wollongong and also to Kiama to visit the FAMOUS blowhole on the 29th Dec 2009!!!
Lucky the weather was behind us as we drove away from Sydney!!! Wollongong is just like another coastal town but with its own charm of a harbour and a lighthouse. Pretty indeed!!!
Our lunch but not at bombora (which seems like the famous one but too expensive), even the platter of family size from another shop (right top pic) cost not cheap!!! Taste not bad at least :)
Love this pic of different colour and types of boats!!!
Click the pic below for full size to see the serenity of this place!!!
Wondered why so many Pelicans gathered around a single boat?? Because that boat just came back from a catch!!!
The jetty there and quite crystal clear water!!!
The 3 of us, love it!!! clear BLUE blue sky with green green grass!! I just love those lighthouses!!!
Heading down to the rocks along the coastal…(love the left top pic too somehow!!!)
There’s many holes like these filled with crystal clear water and an abundant of life/non-life in there!!! Wished i can ‘korek’ one out and put inside a tank or wat!!! Some of those holes looks like a world of its own, so pretty!!!!
A couple against the sea and the sky (top right pic), so nice!!!
Love this pic of Wei yan too, haha. Next we headed off to the buddhist temple that he wished to see so much :)
We had a bit of difficulty looking for this place, haha. We ended up have to ask someone in McD to get the directions, luckily some people who went McD knows the place :)
Kawai little buddhist monk stone statues around the hill slope!!!
This buddhist temple was my 1st temple I stepped in since I left M’sia a year ago and even until now!!!
Indeed this place is a pretty temple!!! VERY BIG and SPACIOUS!!! I think what puts it more stands out is because it is located on a hill high up that makes it isolated in remote and looks somewhat superior!!!
Love those lanterns and they seems quite brand new which make them very colourful to look at!!!
Love this pic that it kinda shows the pagoda in between!!!
Not common a temple showing a country's flag, some more an Australia flag!!!
LOVE THIS pic so much!! Wish everyone good health and peace!!!
Went up this hill along the “gratitude path” to get to the BIG BELL!!!
The view on top was AMAZING because nothing blocks the view, overlooking mountains in front and i love it especially see how the pagoda stands out so much in the bottom panorama pic!!!

Again the colourful lanterns ;)
As we were quite a bit behind time, we didn’t spend long in the temple and went next to Kiama to see the blowhole.
Kiama coastal and lighthouse
See how many people they were!!! Even at such a small town!!! Clearly this town have some UNIQUEness!!!
And the uniqueness comes from this unique rocky formation along the coastal!!! A passageway that leads to…….
THIS!!!!! This is the blowhole that everyone came here to see!!! Though I reckoned it’s not unique to this part of the world, i think there are some in tasie too. But to be able to witness such incredible nature phenomenon is just truly an unique experience!!! Everyone just lined the railings to wait for the strongest tide that rush into the narrow passageway u saw on the top pic and caused the water to shoot up high into the sky when it hits the end/wall of the passageway using a capillary kinda effect . It creates quite a loud splashing sound when the water shoots up!!! If u are lucky, u can see it a few times if you are patient, LOL.
And it was said that on VERY strong tide, the water can shoot up as high as the lighthouse which is sitting on the higher ground!!!! THAT’s very very VERY HIGH!!!! There’s postcard sold there that show the moment!!!
Even as we were leaving, still heaps of people come to see the blowhole!!! Truly worth it to drive all the way down to see it!!! Thanx Wei yan!!!
